INITIATIVES FOR CLIMATE - THE MAP !
http://www.lowcarbonhub.org The Low Carbon Hub is a social enterprise tackling the big issue of climate change in Oxfordshire.
We work with communities, schools and businesses to scale-up renewable energy generation to put local power in the hands of local people. Be part of the big energy shift to create a cleaner, greener future for us all.
Westmill wind and solar farm co-ops started as a small group of local people who wanted to make a difference. The co-ops now have almost 4,000 members who together turned those dreams into energy projects that now generate over 15GW/year of renewable energy and are 100% community owned.
Westmill Sustainable Energy Trust (WeSET) is the charity set up by members of the co-ops to take forward that desire to make a difference. We carry out a wide range of activities, the core being educational work, supporting local energy conservation and renewable energy initiatives and arts projects. We encourage and facilitate visits to the site and every other year organise a larger event. We hope that you may feel inspired to join us or to do something in your community that help to work towards a low carbon future.
COMMUNITY ACTION GROUPS (CAGS)
The CAG network consists of over 50 groups across Oxfordshire at the forefront of community led climate change action, organising events and projects to take action on issues including waste, transport, food, energy and biodiversity. The network runs over 1,000 events per year, attended by over 60,000 local residents.
CAG Project staff offer hands-on, day to day help and advice for groups, and help the network to grow.
Get involved! Find out what's happening on the CAG Event Calendar:
If you need advice on getting land and/or setting up a project do drop us a line to see if we can support you.
Have a click around the site and perhaps a peek at our manifesto. We look forward to seeing you at an upcoming meeting or event and maybe even your group joining us.
The applications relating to the Preston New Road site are scheduled to be decided at meetings to take place on Tuesday 23 June and Wednesday 24 June. The applications relating to the Roseacre Wood site are scheduled to be decided at meetings to take place on Thursday 25 June and Friday 26 June.
Community groups from across Lancashire and the UK now have a clear focus for action on the decision days and in the weeks in the lead up. Watch this space.

Runnymede Eco Village has been summoned to court on Mon June 15th the exact 800th Anniversary of the Magna Carta #olsx #onn #occupydemocracy #radicalassembly
Facebook FED Book https://www.facebook.com/Diggers2012?fref=ts
The original aim of the campaign was to raise awareness of the need for disused land to grow food and create low impact off grid dwellings.
Who would have guessed we would have been there 3 years later around the time of the 800th anniversary of the Magna Carta.
Now blossomed from a tent camp,to an eco village with over 20 different structures, homes made from recycled materials.
All carried on to the site and re used to make homes and sustainable dwellings in a forest community.
The area was heavily fly tipped when we arrived ,and tons of rubbish has been removed.
This is a community of people of all ages from many different walks of life.
It has also been a place for the displaced people of london affected by the recent change in the law to criminalise residential building squatting. (LASPO Act)
( A law fast proving unworkable by mass residential squatting housing protest actions, by the rapidly growing housing movement, in protest at the falsely inflated housing crisis, when there are 1.5 million empty buildings in the UK)
NB It is still legal to squat non residential properties.
Squatting or sheltering in empty buildings has been a right in Britain for time.
It used to be known as crofting.
Move in and fix up and old dilapidated place.
The same LASPO act law removed our rights to fair trial by removing Legal AID for most cases.
So much for equality or equal footing before the law.
We used to gather every saturday in the first months at the Magna Carta memorial to have circular discussions about land rights, loss of civil liberties ,illegal wars, the criminalisation of squatting and the removal of our rights to protest amongst many subjects of concern around the circle.
The loss of the right to a fair trial "Habeous Corpus" has been seriously affected by our governments support for the so called War on Terror, "Extraordinary Rendition" and the secret prison complex.
Amongst many other removals of Civil Liberties by the War of Terror over the last 10-12 years.
There is a much longer story to be told but late n tired many missions.......
Check out the Festival for Democracy June 12-16th 2015 around the 800th Anniversary of the Magna Carta.
Many talks and workshops organised by the New Putney Debates (http://thenewputneydebates.com ) and http://occupydemocracy.org.uk and the eco villagers.
