Housing Act resistance #olsx #housing #council #homeless #tory #tyranny

Piling on the Pressure

No bank holiday let up in the growing opposition to the Housing Act. There was wide coverage on Monday of local councils criticising Pay to Stay, a central part of the Act.

The Local Government Association is calling on Government to 'rethink' Pay to Stay: http://www.local.gov.uk/web/guest/housing/-/journal_content/56/10180/7938704/NEWS.  We got some coverage - see links below.

AND on BBC

West London Campaigner Jan Sweeney on Today programme:
'That's why we need controlled rents - so everyone is paying fair rents, not just council tenants.'

and again, alongside Cllr. Gerald Vernon-Jackson, Vice Chair of LGA:  http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/b07q1wkm#play   2 hours 13 mins in

And Glyn Robbins on BBC London: http://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p044v8bc#play    1 hour 38 mins in
