COP21 The Real Catastrophe of a money focused World deal
Better than previous COP’s but still it doesn’t go far enough
1.5 to 2 will bring displacement and genocide to many.
Without keeping temperatures below 2 their is no deal on the table.
No set focus, still vague and like government enquiries it is long winded
Keeping warming to 1.5 is a big deal compared to 2
All the talks and responsibilities, especially of the richer countries means that overall we are going to end up with a 3 degree temperature change. This will be catastrophic for all, rich and poor alike.
180+ countries, more words, little direct action. Corporate are responsible for land loss, pollution, habitat destruction, species loss, crimes against humanity, genocide & ecocide.
The World’s People need clear cuts in carbon emissions and other pollutants straight away. The same input of resources and drive must be applied that has been put into all the world wars
The UK Government is slashing support for green energy and investing in fracking. They must be arrested from encouraging such practices that will create harm and pollution to all UK citizens whose choices Mps must honour. and uphold
The government’s of the World talk of costs whilst the corporate’s rake in the money and still avoid taxes, all at the expense of the Worlds population. It is not about cost when it comes to the present and the future of the human race No Red Lines Green Lines The tip of the iceberg is sad news as it does not commit all to a 1.5 0c target Also the time scale is unforgivably too long especially when time is of the essence. Keep corporate out of the decisions, this concerns the majority of the World, not the elite few Give corporate the orders, and if necessary, seize their funds to facilitate change.
