Activists behind a homeless camp near the intu Broadmarsh Centre marched in protest over tram tracks – calling for the city council to open its empty buildings for people with nowhere to turn.

A court order has been issued on the Cliff Road camp, with activists set to appear at Nottingham County Court on Thursday, January 14.

The campers say they are not going to move until all rough sleepers have been found a bed but Nottingham City Council insists there is enough space for all genuine homeless people from Nottingham.

As they marched across tram tracks, blocking transport, the activists shouted "homes for the homeless" and "homeless is not a crime".
