SQUATTERS who occupied vacant council offices in West Hampstead with the aim of turning them into a community centre and internet cafe packed up and left the building this morning (Saturday) after losing an eviction case.
Camden secured possession of 156 West End Lane at the High Court yesterday (Friday). Labour council chiefs have been criticised for not talking to the Camden Mothership group about their suggestion for the building, left empty for two years. The group has said it was willing to agree a date to leave ahead of the site's redevelopment.
