Homeless people say they will play "cat and mouse" with the council – moving their camp around the city until they are allowed to live in empty homes and buildings.
A group has been living in tents in Station Street since Christmas Eve and yesterday, after an eviction notice was issued by Nottingham City Council, most moved to Cliff Road, near intu Broadmarsh Centre.
There were 30 tents pitched last night and occupants said they would continue to move on to "unused" land until the authority opened up its empty buildings for them to squat in over the winter.
But the council says there are plenty of beds available for rough sleepers in its shelters and that the cause has been hijacked by protesters who are not homeless – or even from Nottingham.
Phoenix comment " Gwan looks like the dispossessed are getting guerrilla tactics on the council, viva the uprising, demand #homes4all now ,it is possible with common sense use of our empty building resources.Solidarity to the Nottingham Nomadic tent crew.Keep at it till Victory, keep networking"
