Hi all,

I hope this message finds you well.  We're in Calais!  We arrived on Monday evening.  The crossing was fine and we were fortunate to have an escort from a local yacht club in Dover.
We've got a few repairs to do on the boat.  Today we visited a squat for migrants.  We were led there by an activist from No Borders Migrant Solidarity Calais.  We found lots of people from many different countries including Somalia, Sudan, Eritrea and Afghanistan.  They have created a field kitchen and food and supplies arrived while we were (although they always need donations of food, blankets, tents etc...) The squat is under imminent eviction threat.  Migrants here live in squats or camps in makeshift tents.  Its tough!  No shelter is offered by the authorities (just detention centers..)
We have contacted the local papers who are going to run a short story on Sail4Syria hopefully.
I just did a photo post on FB with shots of crossing etc...
We now have a French contact number: 0033 (0) 785 99 15 21
We'll update the blog shortly with a more detailed description.
Peace,

Simon.
