Friern Barnet Peoples Library

Welcome to the Friern Barnet library and community hub website. The
first two weeks saw over 3,000 books donated and they are still coming.
On top of its old use as a library, the space has hosted yoga classes,
pilates, a teddy bears’ picnic, open mic nights and much more. This is
a space for the people of Barnet to reclaim community and we are
seeing that happen more and more everyday.
Public services are being cut all over the country. In this time of
economic hardship it is ever more important for the 99% to have access
to public services such as libraries and community centres. These
buildings provide a space for the community to meet and share
All books, computers, games and furniture have been donated. Volunteers
now fill two thirds of the rota – eight hours a day, six days a week. We rely
on you to keep it alive get involved! Friern Barnet Peoples Library
